| Sisters* is located on the east side of the Cascade Mountains in Central Oregon, 136 miles southeast of Portland. Sisters is just 20 miles west of both Bend and Redmond, Oregon. The population of the City of Sisters is 911. Sisters is the place to begin the MacKenzie Pass-Santiam Pass loop National Scenic Byway. This beautiful drive through two Cascade passes, past lava flows, and through 10,000-ft peaks can easily be driven in 3 to 5 hrs, but plan to take longer if you want to enjoy all it has to offer. Total distance of the trip is 82 miles. McKenzie Pass is closed to vehicles over 35 ft in total length. |
